We have known for millennia that you can't plant watermelons if you intend for that field to harvest cucumbers. Tomato seeds don't grow into elderberry bushes, wheat doesn't spawn redwoods, and sin doesn't grow a relationship with God. Every day, we choose to spend our hours planting, watering, and feeding things in our lives, and the things we spend that time on matters to God. He makes it clear: you reap what you sow. Today, Pastor Greg shares some spiritual gardening tips to cultivate what matters in the light of eternity.

The Lies We Believe

Monday Jan 11, 2021

Monday Jan 11, 2021

Misinformation and lies abound. People pass along information without thinking through it or fact checking it. Google, Twitter and Facebook believe it is their responsibility to censor speech and determine truth but they are blinded by their own biases. As Christians we have a moral obligation to know the difference between truth and lies and to only speak in truth.

Today will be a difficult topic, but we ask you to stick it out and listen for God speaking through His Word to your life today. We're talking about the Christian response to government and authority as described in Scripture: rendering back to Caesar that which is Caesar's, and rendering to God that which is God's. What does that mean? How does that change us? "Hold on, does that mean we're supposed to..." Wait. No, really, listen. The Word of God speaks, if you choose to have ears to hear. Ask for guidance. Ask for clean hands and a pure heart. May the God of grace and peace and justice rule the day.

Discovering God: The Spirit

Sunday Jan 03, 2021

Sunday Jan 03, 2021

Understanding the triune God is beyond us: just like a 2D sheet of paper would struggle to grasp a 3D cube, we don't have a frame of reference for the nature of the God we worship. We relate to the Son, but it's only by the power of the Spirit that we do so. Today, Pastor Greg unpacks how we do that and what steps to take to know the Spirit more deeply.

Discovering God: The Son

Sunday Dec 27, 2020

Sunday Dec 27, 2020

How would you describe God? He's not an easy concept to explain because... well, He's more than a concept! The God we serve is eternal, all-powerful, and all-knowing, and we finite beings can only understand a tiny bit of who He is. Even so, He has chosen to reveal key aspects of His nature to us, and in our new series, we're going to explore who we know Him to be.
Today, in the spirit of the season, John Alvis shares an exciting message of who Jesus is and gently reminds us that knowledge requires action.

The mark of the Beast

Tuesday Dec 15, 2020

Tuesday Dec 15, 2020

Revelation 13 speaks that a time will come that people will have to have a certain mark on them in order to be able to buy or sell. Are we headed in that direction?

Tuesday Dec 15, 2020

People often refer to the God of the Old Testament versus somehow he is a little more chill in the New Testament. Is this true?

We have a fine line to walk, here. On the one hand, Galatians 6:2 says that we should "carry one another's burdens," but three verses later is a reminder: "each man should carry his own load." We strive to strike the balance between helping those around us and not letting them take advantage of us. How do we find the right solution to each problem?
Jesus was surrounded by opportunities to serve, and He did. In examining His ministry on Earth, we can catch a glimpse of what it means to have healthy compassion. Join us for a dive into scriptural application for your life!
