For all of its benefits, modern media and the accessibility of information has done plenty of harm to the moral code of our society. Truth used to be pursued, researched, and distilled by people who dedicated their lives to seeking it, and we would seek out those who knew the most in order to learn the best. Now, even the most respected resource on a subject can have their information released side-by-side with anyone with a bone to pick.
We know Christ is returning, and there is plenty of Scriptural evidence to show that He's coming soon. Sadly, the Truth is a lonely voice amongst the slew and slush of naysayers, anti-theists, and skeptics galore. In our new series, Signs of the Times, we quiet ourselves and focus on what God has said about the days to come, and how we are called to live in them.

Many in the charismatic movement are still claiming Trump will be president in a month or two. Christians need to beware of false prophets. If they are wrong on some things they will lead them astray on others. Our voice and our witness is being tainted by false prophets in the Church.

James 1:13 says "God tempts no one," but we see in the Bible that Jesus was led out after His baptism "to be tempted." Jesus also teaches us in the Lord's prayer to pray "lead us not into temptation." In this podcast we will stretch our understanding of God and how He works in our lives and world as we look at 2 Chronicles 18 and see that God used a "deceiving spirit" to trick King Ahab to go into battle where he would ultimately die.

Evil is all around us in this world. Too many of us simply remain silent, but remaining silent to evil is evil.

Culture changes, but Truth does not, and today's message is a perfect example of that. Today, when we read the Parable of the Talents, it's easy for us to apply our lives to the text and argue that the man given one talent of gold was at a heavy disadvantage; we want to blame the master for being stingy. It's dangerous to read ourselves into the Bible. Rather, we seek what the Bible says in its own way and learn how to apply it to our lives. The lesson is to use what you're given, or lose it in the end.

A liberal anti Christian agenda is once again in full force. If we care about this country we MUST start speaking out and pushing back on the false narratives.

Since time immemorial, groups of people have cried out "the end is near!" We're familiar with images of old men on street corners with cardboard signs just in the last few decades, but writings throughout history have always shown marks of being concerned with the end of all things. How could we possibly know? Scripture says that the end will come like it did in the days of Noah: unpredictably, unexpectedly, and fiercely. Today, Pastor Greg offers wisdom for reading Scripture as it was written to bring both comfort and impetus for change in your life.

It is time for pastors to be uncool and for churches to be uncool. It is time to speak ant teach truth rather than what pop culture wants to hear.

"This is fine, but that is not." We see it every day in both the large and the small things: people (ourselves included) give preference and permissibility to things we like but come down hard on things we don't like. Since when was that okay? Jesus says that judgment will be given to you in the same manner we give it to others. Should God play favorites? If not, then why should we? Let's examine areas of our lives where we've held double standards so we can let go.

When Faith and life intersect amazing things happen. Here is a story of another "Mysterious Encounter" I have experienced in my lifetime. In this "encounter" I "heard God" tell me to stop praying for a sick family member...so I obeyed and stopped praying. The result was an amazing and mysterious encounter with the Almighty God of the universe who chooses to interact with the simple and ordinary of His creation.
