The GOAT Leader

This was a DIFFICULT decision. Who (apart from Jesus) is the Greatest Leader Of All Time? It's got to be someone who rallied people, who overcame adversity because of following God's will... Joshua? Ezra? No, let's look bigger. Abraham? Amazing story, but also he did a good job leading his family. Can we get bigger? Like, a whole nation? Sure we can: MOSES.
Almost killed at birth, raised in a foster family, spoiled, had anger issues, became a fugitive, oh and did we mention he was "slow of speech" so he struggled to tell people what to do? Yet this is the guy through whom God chose to SPLIT A SEA OPEN. What was so special about Moses? What can we learn from him? Today, Pastor Greg explores the history and the legacy of one of the pillars of our faith.

I AM NOT ASHAMED

Shame is a powerful tool used by Satan and many wicked people in society to try to control others. Don't allow yourself to be controlled by shame.

The GOAT Disciple

Continuing our series on Biblical GOATs (people who deserve to be called the Greatest of All Time), we're looking at (arguably) the greatest follower of Jesus: Paul. A man who once was wicked but came to know Truth and changed his whole life to follow. A man who suffered for the cause of Christ constantly. A man who continually encouraged, corrected, and supported righteousness.
How does Paul's life affect us today? What can we learn? How can we model him? Today, Pastor Greg digs into the things that made Paul exceptional, and what we need to do in our lives in order to live as Christ calls us to.

Are You Truly OBJECTIVE?

Most people struggle with seeing the world and their lives objectively. The greatest quality we should strive for is loving the Lord our God with all of our heart mind and soul and loving our neighbor as yourself. Another critical skill is learning how to view life and the world with an objectivity that can only be gained through God's Word.

The GOAT Prophet

Here's a twist of terminology you may not recognize if you're over 30: today, it's a good thing to be called a goat. That's right, G.O.A.T. is now an acronym representing the "Greatest Of All Time" -- who's the GOAT basketball player, Lebron or Jordan? Who's the GOAT boxer? Who's the GOAT DJ? Arguments and theories abound in every category. Only one thing is consistent across the board: there's something uniquely worthy of admiration and emulation from everyone nominated for the title.
Here at Light of the World, we're taking a Biblical view: who's the greatest prophet? The greatest disciple? The greatest disciple-maker? We're going to make a few educated guesses, and support our hypotheses with scripture. More than that, though, we're excited to dig into those qualities and attributes of GOAT-hood worthy of our study, learning how to better represent Jesus on earth.
