Hiding from God is never a smart idea, and today we learn that lesson from the best of the best: Jonah! From the heights to the depths, we'll be covering his ministry and his calling, learning what we can from one of the most memorable Bible stories of all time.
Scriptures today: Genesis 3:8-10 // Psalm 139:7-10 // Jonah 4:5-11 // Job 1:20-22

It is likely persecution will continue to grow against Christians in this country.  What is God doing?  What are we to do about it?  Do we prepare for revolution or should we prepare to be refined by the pending persecution?

"Psychology Today" offers the 'helpful' advice that you should just accept that things are going to be terrible and that you may as well put the "fun" into being "dysfunctional." What?! At what point does God say "well, you'd better just learn to live with it"? Where in Scripture (or ANYWHERE) does God say "you were designed to be broken"?
We were made to inherit a perfect creation. Dysfunction is not the plan. Today we dig into one of the greatest stories of a wondering wanderer, Lot, and how his choices create discord, disharmony, and dysfunction in his family. We also dig into why those choices were made and how we can learn to re-function and function well after dysfunction strikes (spoiler alert: give it to God).

The Middle Finger Revisited

Thursday Jun 03, 2021

Life can be disappointing at times.  No matter how hard we try...things rarely turn out the way we would want them to be. We need to always try to better ourselves, but we (and this world in which we live) will always be "broken" as a result of sin.

Usually when we say someone made a "mighty big mistake," we aren't actually talking about someone who was mighty. Not so, today. We're diving into Samson's story: how God made use of his weaknesses, and how his weaknesses teach us to rely on God.

Is Cancel Culture Even Real?

Thursday May 27, 2021

Thursday May 27, 2021

Cancel culture seems so alive and well in today’s world, but is it really?  People on the right and on the left seem to oppose it...so who is for it and is it even real?  That is what we will address in this week's podcast.

There are two ways to think about growth: what do you want more of, and what do you want less of? We've spent the last few weeks, as a church, exploring the greatest-of-all-time disciple, prophet, believer, and more, as inspiration and models. Now, we explore the other side of the coin: the mistakes of literally Biblical proportions.
We aren't pulling punches, either: today's story is one of the hardest to swallow. Some people lied, and God struck them dead. Why? How could He? How does He have the right? Pastor Greg explores these questions in depth as we discover what we can learn from their mistakes.
Today's Scriptures: Acts 5 1-11 // Isaiah 55:8-9 // Acts 4:32-37 // Acts 5:12-16
