There’s a popular cliché in the business world: “Seeing is believing.” In other words, someone’s bragging and blustering can sound great up front, but we’re going to wait to see their results before we actually trust them.
God, famously, does not play by mankind’s rules. In fact, we see many times in Scripture that faith without sight is more valuable than proof. In fact, Jesus Himself told Thomas that “those who have not seen and yet have believed are blessed.”
Why is faith so important to God? That is the question we’re diving into today, and we’re excited that you’re joining us for the discussion.
Scriptures today: Ephesians 2:8 // 2 Corinthians 5:7 // John 20:29 // Hebrews 11:1 // Hebrews 11:6 // Matthew 12:38-40 // Matthew 8:5-10 // 2 Timothy 3:15 // Matthew 7:24 // James 1:22-24 // James 4:7-8 // James 4:10 // James 1:3-4

Most people would say that God is a priority in their lives, but is He the priority we say He is? Is God really the core of your purpose for being? Today’s illustration includes Rice Krispie treats: if we are the bar and God is the chocolate, is He sprinkled on or is He baked in?
The process of “baking in,” the process of making him part of the recipe instead of a final addition, is difficult to navigate but ultimately more important than anything else. If He is first, all else will fall into place. Today, Pastor Greg helps us navigate the steps required to really make Him our center, our home, our purpose, and our greatest joy.
Scriptures today: Luke 9:57-62 // Matthew 21:7-11 // Luke 23:13-20 // Romans 2:4 // James 3:9-12 // John 13:35 // 2 Corinthians 9:11 // 1 Corinthians 15:12-20

This week, we launch a new sermon series called “How To”. YouTube is a wonderful resource for figuring out how to do things you don’t know how to do, but where do you go to figure out how to do life and do it well? We argue that the Bible and our relationships with God are invaluable tools for how to do life and do it well. Today, and for the next several weeks, we are going to be trying to make us all more proficient in obedience to God and the living out our faith.
Scriptures today: Proverbs 14:12 // Hebrews 4:12 // 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 // 1 Corinthians 6:18 // 1 Corinthians 15:33 // 1 John 2:16 // James 4:7-8 // 1 Corinthians 10:13

The Dog or the Hydrant?

Thursday Feb 17, 2022

Thursday Feb 17, 2022

Life at times is challenging at best. As the old saying goes “sometimes we are the dog and other times we are the hydrant.” If you are getting beat up by life right now remember these promises of God as you navigate the messiness of life.

Insanity’s last stand

Tuesday Feb 01, 2022

Tuesday Feb 01, 2022

There is always the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. Is it possible that we’re finally getting to that point with the woke and far left agendas of today’s elite? It seems there is an increasing push back against those leaders and corporations who have been trying to destroy our country and western democracies through policies that silence dissenting voices and the traditional values that this country has always held true. It is more important now than ever that the silent majority speak loudly and clearly as insanity and those who endorse it brace for what could possibly be their last stand.

For the last two weeks, we’ve examined the Beatitudes (“Blessed are those who…”) — and we see the kind of people God wants us to be through the lens of those He called blessed.
But what IS the blessing of God? What does it actually do in our lives? Today, Pastor Greg unpacks the Biblical concept and context of blessing, both in Hebrew families and directly by God’s hand, and we’ll better understand the power and purpose of seeking God’s blessing on us.

Embrace the reward of risk

Wednesday Jan 26, 2022

Wednesday Jan 26, 2022

Some people are risk adverse while others have a high tolerance for risk. It has always been said no risk no reward, but is that really true?

Sunday Jan 23, 2022

Who does God bless? Last week, Pastor Greg started unpacking The Beatitudes, which is a core element of The Sermon on the Mount, which in turn is the longest recorded message of Jesus Christ Himself.
Jesus, addressing the people, begins explaining the heart of God: “Blessed are the poor in spirit… those who mourn… the meek… those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…” And in all of our posturing and postulating, humans tend to overthink and overanalyze every word and phrase. Let’s step back together. What did Jesus mean when He said those things? Pastor Greg dives into that today.

The Sound of Silence

Monday Jan 17, 2022

Monday Jan 17, 2022

Are you stressed and overwhelmed with life right now? We need to make sure we take time to embrace silence in our life and through that silence listen for the voice of God.

Sunday Jan 16, 2022

The word “blessed” gets thrown around a lot these days. Just scroll through social media and you’ll find post after post:
“Got accepted at my first choice college! #blessed”
“I love my crazy family! #blessed”
“After months of hard work, I’m proud to announce my new position… #blessed”
— but what does it really mean to have the blessing of God?
Is it a healthy body? Obedient children? A successful career? Are these the hallmarks of blessing? Is that what God promised?
Join us for the next five weeks as we dive deep into the teachings of Christ on the heart of God and how He rewards those who diligently seek Him, both now and in eternity to come.
