Anchored in His Spirit

Sunday Dec 12, 2021

Sunday Dec 12, 2021

This is an important message: when Christ returned to heaven, He promised to send an Advocate, a Helper, to us. Then, as evidenced throughout Scripture and history, He did! But what does that mean today? “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you,” does that mean we will wave our hands and mystical things will happen? Well, no… not likely, at least.
Pastor Greg takes a tour through both Old and New Testament examples of what happens when the Holy Spirit moves in someone’s life, and what you can expect in today’s world. Let’s study together!

Anchored in Truth

Today's message needs no introduction. There is enough propaganda, misinformation, and outright lying in the world around us. The problem we face is that it isn't just an intellectual or an ethical issue, but at its core, it's a spiritual issue. Pastor Greg explains how, and why, today.

Evil can be battled against a whole lot easier than stupidity. There is a whole lot of stupidity in the world today. The question is, “who will free us from it”?

Anchored in His Care

Sunday Nov 28, 2021

Sunday Nov 28, 2021

Have you ever bared your soul to a close friend or a trusted advisor about a struggle you’re facing, just to get back the trite answer “well, God will work it all out, just be patient” or worse yet, “you just have to let GO and let GOD, amen?”
In the midst of difficult circumstances, with consequences looming and judgments imminent, it feels like this is the worst advice you could get. AND YET, JESUS HIMSELF said “do not be anxious about your life… tomorrow will be anxious for itself.” JESUS HIMSELF says “come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”
Can we trust that? DO we trust that? What does that look like in real life? What’s the process of letting go and letting God? Today, Pastor Greg shares some personal and some professional struggles, and how to Biblically walk in faith: neither blindly, nor arrogantly, nor flippantly, but trusting in the words and the ways of Christ Jesus.

Time to clean out the garage

Tuesday Nov 23, 2021

Tuesday Nov 23, 2021

Sometimes we mean things for good but actually they have unintended negative consequences. From time to time we must reevaluate how we are doing things and “clean out the garage” to get rid of things that are not as helpful to our lives as we thought.

Anchored in Obedience

Sunday Nov 21, 2021

Sunday Nov 21, 2021

Mankind has been continually disobedient: from the Garden, through the flood, after Egypt, in the time of the judges, the time of the kings, the time of the prophets, ALL throughout the time of Christ, and clearly afterwards as the apostles wrote numerous letters to churches in need of correction.
We're not all that different today, and the terrifying realization is that the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever admonished through Amos that He is willing to punish His children into obedience. "To obey is better than sacrifice," so let's study God's own Word together and learn how best to follow Him today.

God desires obedience

Wednesday Nov 17, 2021

Wednesday Nov 17, 2021

Man’s propensity is always to disobedience of God. When man has been obedient it is almost always because a strong leader led them in obedience and they followed. This podcast encourages and urges all of us to lead in that way.

Anchored in His Presence

Sunday Nov 14, 2021

Sunday Nov 14, 2021

"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you," wrote James. Today, many ask "but where is God amidst all of this, then?"
In the Old Testament, God's presence was in one place: with the Ark of the Covenant, in the Holy of Holies, only truly worshipped by Israel and only approachable by the High Priest. Thankfully, God made a New Testament with His people: the veil was torn and the presence of God is now among (and within) us, His people worldwide.
There is no greater hope than knowing that the Spirit of God Himself resides here and holds us fast through every storm. Join us today as we study how we got here and what to do as we learn to be Anchored in Him.
