The Blessed Life: Beatitudes (2 of 2)

Who does God bless? Last week, Pastor Greg started unpacking The Beatitudes, which is a core element of The Sermon on the Mount, which in turn is the longest recorded message of Jesus Christ Himself.
Jesus, addressing the people, begins explaining the heart of God: “Blessed are the poor in spirit… those who mourn… the meek… those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…” And in all of our posturing and postulating, humans tend to overthink and overanalyze every word and phrase. Let’s step back together. What did Jesus mean when He said those things? Pastor Greg dives into that today.

“I love my crazy family! #blessed”
“After months of hard work, I’m proud to announce my new position… #blessed”
— but what does it really mean to have the blessing of God?
Is it a healthy body? Obedient children? A successful career? Are these the hallmarks of blessing? Is that what God promised?

There is a new law in Canada that makes it illegal to encourage people to repent of sexual sins and to conform their life to a biblical definition of morality. Get ready it will be coming to America soon.

Last week we looked at how justice has become skewed and we re-educated ourselves on what Biblical justice looks like. But one thing supersedes justice, and that is mercy. Mercy is seen all throughout scripture, and today we dive into many ways to not only show mercy to others (as God has done to us), but to love the process of doing so.

It’s time we break up with Covid and with fear

Break ups are hard. We often hold on to things long after we should have let them go. Too many people and leaders continue to hold on to fear and an unjustified over reaction to Covid. With Omicron being admittedly the most mild strain of Covid to date fear holds on and restrictions are still increasing. None of this will stop until we break up with fear and let our unhealthy fixation with Covid end.

The God Mandate - Act Justly

"This is what the Lord requires of you..." A verse that leads starts that clearly REQUIRES our attention, and we are thrilled to dive into it: "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."
Today, we're looking at scripture passages that describe justice, because what we call justice is more than a little different from how most of America perceives justice to be. God is Just, and we're asked to imitate Him. Join us as we study how to do that.
