The word “blessed” gets thrown around a lot these days. Just scroll through social media and you’ll find post after post:
“Got accepted at my first choice college! #blessed”
“I love my crazy family! #blessed”
“After months of hard work, I’m proud to announce my new position… #blessed”
— but what does it really mean to have the blessing of God?

Is it a healthy body? Obedient children? A successful career? Are these the hallmarks of blessing? Is that what God promised?
